BLOSSOM
Sean P Connaughty 2007
with Comets Ov Cupid, Scott Puhl, and Bryce Kastning
The inexorable progression of the seasons, brings us from hard winter to a spring of discontent. The blossom seen through a frozen window.
NEW MUSIC RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT
"Blossom" has finally gone public! I have waited a long time to release this, the last album I ever made. “Blossom” features five original Sean P Connaughty compositions and five cover songs. Including songs by Beck, Dylan, Woody Guthrie and an Irish Ballad.
Musicians: Sean P Connaughty, Comets Ov Cupid, Scott Puhl, Bryce Kastning and mandolin playing gentleman.
Half of the album was recorded in the cold early spring of 2007 at Sacred Heart Church in Duluth, MN USA. These tracks feature my singing with a painful voice injury. The other half of the album was recorded by Bryce Kastning in Requirements of Sound studio in Minneapolis, MN 2007. Blossom was never released until now. All tracks are composed in contrast to the other Sean P Connaughty albums which are primarily improvisations.

The album was possible only through the support, labor and talent of many dear friends. I am really excited and trepidatious to finally put this out in the world. It’s a culmination that was delayed in the wake of the loss of our dear friend and collaborator seventeen years ago, Matt Zaun. This album is dedicated to him.
Dear friends who supported me and helped make this happen, thank you to for being part of the vision, and bringing your beautiful music to these songs. Thanks to Melissa who gifted me the studio time at Sacred Heart. Thanks to Eric Swanson who recorded me there.
Thank you!
Sean

A Blossom Displaced In Time
“Can you hear the keening of everything out there? The rabbits have hidden in their holes and all the lemming’s gone off the cliff, all the buffalo have been eaten, as have all the fish.”
